Née en 1987 à Caen, Lucie Ménard vit et travaille à Lille. Elle est diplômée en 2019 du post-diplôme Curatorial studies à KASK School of Arts (Gand). Depuis 2012, elle est responsable du service éducatif et culturel au Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains à Tourcoing, activité qu’elle mène en parallèle d’une pratique de curatrice indépendante. Nourrie par la dynamique entre ces deux activités, elle s’intéresse particulièrement à l’intersection entre commissariat d’exposition et médiation, aux temporalités de l’acte de création et de l’exposition, aux allers-retours entre matérialité et images numériques dans les pratiques contemporaines, et à la tension entre attention(s) et distraction(s).
Lucie Ménard est l’une des co-fondatrices de moss, collectif curatorial transfrontalier basé à Gand. Les
quatre membres du collectif, Lieselotte Egtberts (NL), Elisa Maupas (IT/FR), Lucie Ménard (FR) et Anna
Stoppa (IT) collaborent depuis 2020. S’appuyant sur la complémentarité de leurs pro!ls (artiste, scienti!que,
médiatrice, historienne de l’art) et de leurs expériences professionnelles diverses (galeries, institutions, artist-
run spaces en France, Belgique, Italie, Royaume-Uni et Pays-Bas), elles collaborent de manière organique et
horizontale, envisageant l’exposition comme terrain de jeu. Elles organisent ensemble différents projets entre la France et la Belgique.
Born in 1987 in Caen, Lucie Ménard lives and works in Lille. She is a 2019 alumna of the international post-graduate program Curatorial Studies at KASK School of Arts (Ghent). Since 2012, she has worked as the head of education programmes at Le Fresnoy — Studio national des arts contemporains (Tourcoing), a position she occupies in parallel to her practice as an independent curator.
Exploring the relationships between mediation and curatorial practices, she’s particularly interested in finding ways to make the artists process visible. Her research are also inclined towards notions of temporalities and attention(s)/distraction.
She is one of the co-founders of moss, a cross-border collective for curatorial projects founded in 2020 in Ghent with Lieselotte Egtberts, Elisa Maupas and Anna Stoppa.
